Harriet Tubman



Who is Harriet Tubman?
Harriet Tubman is a lady that was born a slave.She was born in the United states. She married a free man even though she was working in slave labour. Died march 10 1913. She became a famous conductor on the underground railroad which lead hundreds of slaves to freedom.
What is the underground railroad and how do people get there?
The underground railroad was created in the early 19th century. It is believed that around 100,000 slaves between 1810 and 1860 escaped through the network. She helped the slaves escape and never lost a single one of them along the way. She was helped along the way by another railroad conductor William still.
What are spirituals and how could this help the slaves?
Spirituals are songs mainly sung outside of churches.Slaves were allowed to meet for christian services.During slavery and afterwards, workers were allowed to sing songs during their working time
